The main
objectives of establishing the TEOC are several but the key ones are:
i. To be a platform for timely generation and sharing of information pertaining to the observation of the democratic processes;
ii. To enhance citizens oversight on the democratic
processes in the country;
iii.To monitor and track, as an early warning system, all
potential of election related violence and irregularities that would
impair/undermine freeness and fairness of the democratic processes and refer
them to the respective authorities for action;
iv. To engage the Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs) and
law enforcers in a constructive manner in order to ensure that the information
gathered is acted upon expeditiously for the purpose of ensuring rapid
response.
