There are three days left before the campaign season ends. Ambassador Kiwanuka urges election stakeholders, head of political parties, security forces and the National Election Commission (NEC ) to, ‘ Keep Calm and let Tanzanians be the Victors’. Ultimately, elections are about winning and losing. A winner must emerge and a loser must be consoled. As the election tension mounts, it will take very little to spark a fire and thus a calm dispensation is wise. Clearly, this is the most exciting and passionate election we have seen yet. It will pave the pathway to future elections and usher in a new era of maturity for the Tanzanian democratic state. Tanzanians will decide and we must honour that decision by letting people to vote peacefully, allow the votes to be counted calmly and wait for the results to be announced. Once the outcome is shared we must all remember that Tanzanians are the most important factor in this election and their peace and security is paramount. This is what will guide us to the future preparations of the 2020 elections. May peace reign.
